The herbs used in each Lavanya Ayurveda formulation have been carefully selected and combined to strengthen the formula in four ways:

Realizing the rapid changes in the environment, and that all our ingredients are procured from plants exposed to these environmental conditions, quality control process, by necessity, have to be very stringent. In essence, once the medicinal herb step into the lab from nature's lap, it traverses a highly scientific path: Pharmacognosy, where is authenticity is established by morphological and microscopic means; analytical chemistry, where physical and chemical parameters are analyzed and studied; animal pharmacology, where elaborate experimental studies such as acute, sub-chronic, chronic toxicity, teratogenicity, mutagenicity and carcinogenicity studies are conducted, not only to assess the efficacy, but also to ensure the safety, after which it is further tested for immunological, histopathological and biochemical parameters. The Formulation and Development Division, where the final formulations made, conducts accelerated stability trials and estimates shelf-life. The final product is further standardized using state of art techniques such as High performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Liquid Chromatography (GLC), High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC Finger printing), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (ASS), etc., which ensure physical and chemical uniformity and rule out the presence of impurities, aflatoxins, pesticides and heavy metals.

Once these basic parameters are fulfilled, the product undergoes Phase I, II and III clinical studies to establish its safety, tolerability and efficacy. The journey of the finished product then continues to microbiology, where the microbial counts, if any, are monitored and the stability is tested.

In Ayurvedic medication system Lavanya adds Bhasmas & Ras rasayan to speedily cure its' patients. Bhasma is a powder of substances obtained by calcinations of Metals & Minerals. In the Ras-Rasayan formation, minerals like Mercury, Sulphur, Vatsanabha, Hingul, Tankan, Dhatura etc are fully tested and purified and then the method of manufacturing is to be established for given most efficient in smaller (Ras) dosage.

The Quality Control department is equipped with modern sophisticated instruments required to carry out the analysis. To ensure microbiologically safe products, Quality Control department is equipped with full fledged microbiological lab where all the products including Raw materials, Process Consumables and In Process samples are tested.
