Know All About Various Sleeping Positions And Their Impact on Your Health

Young woman sleeping
Young woman sleeping

Your sleeping positions can have a huge impact on your slumber as well as your overall health. Poor p.m. posture may potentially cause back and neck pain, fatigue, sleep apnea, muscle cramping, impaired circulation, headaches, heartburn, tummy troubles and even premature wrinkles. Decode your current sleep positions and decide which are the best and worst for your health.

Sleeping Positions

On Your Back

Back sleeping is also a winner for the more cosmetically inclined. Spending all night with the face out in the air and not smooched up against a pillow may leads to fewer facial wrinkles. Back sleeping helps the mattress do its job of supporting the spine. This pose is a boon for spine and neck health. Although it is not the most popular position, only eight percent of people sleep on their backs and it is still the best.  This is so far the healthiest option for most of the people.

Fetus Position

Curled up on your side. It is one of the most common sleeping positions. Those who sleep in the fetus are described as tough on the outside but shy and sensitive at heart. Sleeping on your left side can cause stress on your vital organs which include liver, stomach and lungs. Therefore if fetus is your position of choice, it is recommended to curl up on the right side of your body.

Log Position

Lying on your side with both of the arms down by your side. Log sleepers are social and easygoing people. This position keeps the spine straight, which is more suitable for those who suffer from back pain.

Soldier Position

Lying on your back with both arms at your sides. Soldier sleepers are basically quiet and reserved. Research shows that sleeping on your back may lead to snoring, difficulty breathing and an overall bad sleep at night.

Yogurt is probiotics and are “friendly bacteria” that are naturally present in the human digestive system. Live strains of these “good bacteria” are also found in plenty of yogurt products. While more research being conducted, there is evidence that some strains of probiotics may help boost the immune system and promote a healthy digestive tract. There are plenty of people who are aware that yogurt is actually a healthy food product.”Yogurt can provide you flat abs and smooths skin. Yogurt contains good bacteria and is loaded with vitamins. A cup of yogurt on daily basis can help you recover faster after a workout.  Yogurt is equivalent when it compared to calcium and vitamin D. Yogurt may prevent high blood pressure and is incredibly healthy, offering benefits for heart health, weight management and lots more. Yogurt is rich in nutrient containing high amounts of protein, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc and vitamin B-12 and is basically fermented milk this means that this is milk that has been turned sour for a purpose. The health benefits of yogurt have always been vital to mankind and are a powerhouse of various vitamins and minerals that are also present in milk. Women who use yogurt regularly generally have a better overall diet quality than those who don’t use yogurt, according to a study published in 2013 in “Nutrition Research.” Several specific benefits exist for women who regularly consume yogurt. The 2013 study in “Nutrition Research” reports that eating yogurt regularly is associated with lower blood pressure, blood glucose and triglyceride levels and less insulin resistance compared with not eating yogurt. This indicates female yogurt consumers may have least chance of developing chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, calcium and vitamin D are essential for reducing the risk of osteoporosis, a bone-weakening disease that often strikes postmenopausal women, leading to fractures. Yogurt is made by bacterial fermentation of milk, a process that may boost digestive health because it produces the same good bacteria found in the gut. According to, the extra bacteria, or probiotics, added to yogurt have been shown to enhance immunity, perhaps by producing more infection-fighting white blood cells or antibodies in the gut. Yogurt can benefit bacterial vaginosis, an infection of the vagina afflicting many women. If you are the type of person who is always having problem with digestion and trying to get rid of the toxins from the food that you have consumed, you may want to take in yogurt even as a desert or as a part of your main meal since this may help digest the other food products and at the same time, it can promote regular digestion too. Some people who are naturally sickly and would always fall under certain types of sickness. It seems that yogurt also has natural boosting properties that can help the body become stronger. Now this might come as a surprise to a lot of people because a lot of people are not aware that yogurt can actually be good for the teeth. The main reason why it is good is because it can act as a protection against cavities which a lot of people get from taking in a lot of sweets and also neglecting to brush the teeth twice a day. The lactic acid present in yogurt may also help in protecting not just the mouth but also the gums.

The Ayurvedic system is one of the perfect alternatives for all types of ailments and rejuvenation therapies. Ayurveda is capable of curing plenty of diseases, which has been declared incurable by other medical streams. There are more than 16000 beneficial herbs available only in India which is being utilized in ayurveda. It has no side effects. Moreover, it is less expensive as well.

The basic principles of Ayurvedic treatment are immutable.”Treatment is rooted in measure” : the effect of any particular therapy on a particular patient depends on its dosage which is dependent upon the climate, the doshas involved , the strength of the patient versus the strength of the disease, the patients age and constitution , the specific syndrome, the patients social environment , the goal of treatment and so on. Time cycled including ‘disease time’ and the joints of seasons are especially vital, because the doshas are controlled differently at different times, depending upon both external time and the disease’s momentum within the microcosm. Ayurveda teaches a very systematic and scientific way of life which is very vital to pursue both materially and spiritually.

Ayurveda begins with properties of the entire organism, starting from the whole system and moving to smaller and smaller subsystems. Ayurveda’s system of doshas, initially a simple, single cell regulatory system, progressively developed into our own doshas, subdoshas and organ doshas, able to regulate organisms of ever increasing complexity. Ayurveda teaches us that all disease initiates when we are living out of harmony with our environment. When we take in inappropriate impressions from our environment through any of our five senses, we weaken the body and create an internal environment which supports the creation of disease. In these environment bacteria, viruses and other pathogens thrive and muscles tense and alter the function of vertebra interfering with nerve function. We could say that energy flow is disrupted in the body. An important part of a healthy lifestyle from an Ayurvedic perspective is relaxation and peace of mind. To this extent, Ayurveda utilizes meditation and yoga as healing methods. These two powerful methods have been well documented to reduce stress and aid the function of the immune system. With this method of Ayurveda, a person can take back control over their health and well being. These methods lead to the formation of an ideal internal environment which supports the healing process.
