Polyhedral formulations based on Rasayana therapy described in Charaka Samhita showed remarkable improvement in quality of life of various cancer patients who have been found to be refractory or poor responders to modern chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
One of the most recent novel herbomineral preparation, Las01 prepared absolutely as per the instruction given in the ancient Ayurvedic literature has been found to be effective as a potent anticancer drug in the human cell lines, theMCF-7 and Hela cancer cell lines.
The Study Conducted at in-vivo sciences bio sciences, USA
Live cell imagining and proliferation data demonstrate that most effective and time-depended anti-tumor activity was observed at 25μg/ml treatment dose of LAS01 agent with MDA0132 and HT-29 Micro tumors. Both agents may have some inhibitory effects at higher dose (100ug) and/or longer treatment days (> 7-10 day). Future evaluation of anti-tumor profiles at lower concentrations of LAS01 using various other tumor cell lines and potential biomarker and genomic analysis for mechanistic studies.

National Seminar on, ‘’Management of Cancer Through Ayurveda” Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, New Delhi. Brainstem glioma is taken as difficultly curable rather incurable being a disease of very poor prognosis. In a case study (Male, 52 years, 20 August, 2010 till date) of Brainstem Glioma patient, a herbo-mineral formulation consisting many metals, minerals and vegetable drugs was given orally.
The formula being developed by Lavanya Ayurveda (Las01) has already being proved effective in human beings’ Cancers of different organs and on MCF-7 and Hela Cell-lines (Breast and Cervical Cancer) in an in-vitro studies. The relief obtained after the application of Las01 was highly noticeable symptomatically and hematologically, biochemically as well as radiologically which could not be obtained after use of other modern medicines. The life span is increased markedly higher than reported in medical literature (Abstract Published ).
In the present study an attempt has been made to the evaluate Las01- a herbo-mineral compound prepared by Lavanya Ayurvedic Hospital and Cancer Research Center for its in-vitro anti cancerous activity on MCF-7 (Breast) and Hela (Cervical) Cancer cell lines using parameters for cell viability proliferation and cellular markers of apoptosis. Cultured MCF-7 and Hela cells were treated with different doses of ethanol dissolved Las01 from 10 to 500µg/ml for 48 hours.
Inhibition and anti proliferative activity of compound was noted in a dose dependent manner. Maximum anti-proliferative activity about 77% in MCF-7 and 78% in Hela cells were observed in a dose of 500µg/ml. Results indicate maximum apoptotic inducing activity of 56.8% in 500 µg/ml dose in MCF-7 and 58.2 % in Hela VNR positive cells and 57.6 % in MCF-7 & 59.3 % in Hela F. actin cells, respectively which was found to be significantly higher as compared to control group. The effects on cell proliferation showed a potent anti-proliferative activity of Las01 and a comparable apoptosis inducing activity at various doses of Las01 which are suggestive of potent in- vitro anti-cancerous activity of the compound.
