Ras Rasayan
According to Ayurveda, terminal diseases can be cured only through Rasa-Rasayan. Rasa-Rasayan therapy is based on the idea that human body is composed of copper, iron, zinc, mercury, sulphar, silver etc. When these elements in the body get depleted, use of bhasma of those relevant metals and herbs can make compatible impact on the body. This principle now a days is known as “Nanotechnology”.
Those who are not well-versed in ayurveda believe that they have ill effect on the kidney but it is not true. Ayurvedic system of treatment eradicates toxic effect in the body.
There is a clear mention in the Ayurvedic texts. That incurable disease are to be treated by means of Rasa-Rasayan. In Rasayan shastra the principal element of Rasayan is mercury or parada. After purifying parad if it is processed in the eight fold way (Ashta Sanskarit) then it acquires the nectar-like life giving properties.
Lavanya has at long last succeed in making the ashta sanskrit parad which finds mention in the texts as an achievable entity for cure of almost incurable diseases. This was almost unheard of in the world of treatment. Apart from this Bhasmas from Gold, Silver, Bang, Lead, Zinc, Yasad, Copper, iron as well metals and such precious stones like diamond, Panna, Munga, Pukhraj, Nilam, Manikya, Moti, Gomeda, Vaidurya etc. these are formed into bhasmas and pishtis.
At Lavanya by the process of Koopi pakva or treating with Parad metals, ratnas etc are converted into Bhasmas. The Bhasmas are tested on the principles of testing prevalent in Ayurveda. For this Mitra Panchak and Amrita panchak methods are made use of.
In order to grasp the efficacy and significance of Bhasma we have to appreciate the principle of Nanotechnology according to which if we process a piece of metal or any chemical in its micro-size then its efficacy gets multiplied million times. Treatment with Bhasmas is based on this principle. Modern Allopathic Therapy believes that our body is made of metals and other elements. Ayurveda knows the significance of making the nano converted metal or Ratna Bhasma acceptable to the body and potent cure to treat the almost incurable diseases.
A lot of misgivings about Bhasmas are nurtured by the specialists of modern day medicines, they seem to take Bhasma just like metal and proceed to analyse its merits or demerits. This is so because they do not know the elementary principles of Ayurveda, although they may be specialists of their subject.
Lavanya has taken it upon itself to bring forth before the public the merits of Ayurvedic Bhasmas getting them duly tested. Our medicines based on Bhasmas were tested by Maharashtra Drug & Administrative Department ‘s Analytical Laboratory which found that despite 5 1019 P/M it was free from any kind of toxicity. Again as is sometimes associated with Ayurvedic medicines that they contain steroids, the sample tested was certified free from this too. We may add here relevantly that generally Mercury or Parad contains traces of tin and lead. But Indian Toxicological Research council (ITRC)’s findings on our ashta sanskarit parad clearly certifies that these traces are below diagnostic limit (BDL).
It goes to the credit of Lavanya that the use of Bhasmas in its Rasa Rasayan treatment upon more than 15000 patients, their LFT/KFT tests despite a sufficiently long period of treatment have not reported any adverse finding. Therefore it is baseless to hold that Bhasmas are harmful. Although it is possible that if the process of converting the metal into a Bhasma was not in terms of the Ayurvedic texts and contained certain flaw because of which the metal was not converted into Bhasma, or alternatively if the dose prescribed is not strictly in accordance with the shastra or text then the chances of harm are not ruled out.
It is quite relevant here to mention that Rasa-Rasayan Therapy is directly related to the dhatus and ratnas that are representatives of various planets and stars. In astrology these metals or ratnas are prescribed to be worn on the body, while in Rasa- Rasayana the same are advised to be orally consumed.
